Comprehensive Research Into Schizophrenia and other Psychopathologies

douglashall2001.jpg

Our research team is part of the Douglas Research Centre

The second largest mental health research centre in Canada.

We are currently exploring several inter-related dimensions of mental health through the use of diverse and complementary clinical, cognitive, digital, and neuroimaging approaches.

Our Vision

To understand and improve the neurocognitive, clinical, social, and occupational lives of individuals living with schizophrenia and other psychopathologies.

Our research touches on multiple facets of mental illness – from the brain to cognition to symptoms to functioning.

We recognize the multiscale nature of mental health: it is driven by multiple levels (biological to individual to systems), which, when dysfunctional, can lead to mental illness.

To make a difference, we must address this complexity through collaborative research incorporating our distinct expertise.

Our Mission

Conducting innovative, interdisciplinary, and open research through diverse techniques and perspectives.

We unite many areas of expertise to design comprehensive studies, to consider multiple aspects of mental illness simultaneously.

We combine various techniques, from brain imaging to systematic reviews to treatment studies, using qualitative and quantitative methods to tackle our research questions from different angles.

Through our shared commitment to open science, we give back to the community and integrate the voices of those with lived experience of mental illness.

Our Values
